Health and Safety: Onsite Chemical Spills Briefing
| Description | This safety briefing is to familiarise you with the spill kits in your labs. It will explain and elaborate on the detail in the power point presentation that you should read before attending and is a re-assurance session to give you confidence to decide whether you should tackle a spill or not, and what to do if you proceed. These safety briefings will be run in your labs, ideally with groups of between 5-12 people.
Audience: this safety briefing is intended for staff and postgraduates who are working in a laboratory with chemicals.
Pre-work Requisites: prior to attending the briefing, all delegates must read the chemical spills information sheet that is published on the COSHH section of the Safety Hub. . Presenter: this briefing will be conducted by a qualified member of the Safety Team Duration: the briefing will normally last 45 minutes to 1 hour. To arrange a F2F briefing, please add your names to the waiting list and the Safety team will contact you to arrange a suitable date to visit your lab and ensure that you have read and understood the information sheet as a prerequisite of the safety briefing.
