Dr Praveen Paul began her career as a researcher exploring the brain. She later co-founded Pint of Science, a festival designed to bring researchers and the public together in relaxed, accessible spaces such as pubs, cafés, and community halls. She helped transform Pint of Science from a simple idea into the largest science festival in the world. Pint of Science now spans over 500 cities in 30 countries, connecting the public with scientific ideas and research. This seminar is part of a series that aims to support early career researchers (ECRs) in expanding the audience reach of their findings by learning how to connect and collaborate with community organisations, public-facing platforms, and content creators. Rather than focusing on creating new audiences, the series will demonstrate how researchers can tap into existing networks and intermediaries to disseminate research more effectively and meaningfully. The series will bring together speakers from a range of academic and non-academic backgrounds, offering complementary perspectives on research dissemination, creating partnerships, and public engagement.
